“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”
Ephesians 2:14-18 (NKJV)
…the “duality of man” is often spoke of when making excuses for our depravity. The idea is that we wrestle with our natures of body and soul. In a struggle such as this, there can be no peace, just constant struggle with one nature or the other as victor for the moment. But Christ takes this from us! No longer does one nature war against the other, because through Christ and the application of His Grace and Mercy through a miraculous Love, there is no longer two – but one. Through Christ, our fractured and imperfect natures are not only made new, but they are made whole. A whole NEW NATURE entirely…
This nature is called “redeemed”!
You say you want “peace”? You’re saying you want Christ!
