The “I Am Thankful Project” – Day 6 – #UNTCI Member Challenge

Today I am thankful for “now”.

For years I lived either reliving or trapped in the past, or focused on how “better” the future would be.

Meanwhile, all my “nows” slipped through my hands like unrecoverable grains of sand.

It’s truly a clever trap, and our enemy weilds it with precision.  You see, for all the regrets, pain, sorrow, longing, wishing and hoping we do… we pay for those wasted spans of time with the expensive currency of our “now”.

Even God can’t change the past, and the future lies purely in His hands. Now is the only time we are truly guaranteed. Let us not waste it by living our lives “elsewhere”.

Today I am thankful for the glorious gift of “now”.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” ~ Philippians 4:8-9
