BACKGROUND OF THE TEACHER TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT

This is a scholarship project for our ministry teachers who are already teaching our ministry children in our schools under our supervision.

Our ministry school was built with the purpose of reducing the illiteracy rate through Christian Centered Education and to improve on our own evangelism efforts to the vulnerable orphan children/people we are serving in our area through ministry efforts.

We believe sponsoring these teachers in their teacher training college courses will further equip them by adding to their educational experience.

REASONS FOR THE PROPOSED TEACHER TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT

We need our teachers to be approved and certified by the government so that the government will pay our ministry teachers salaries.

This will only happen if our teachers are trained, through one of the government accredited college/Universities. With our teacher’s salaries covered by the government our ministries will have more discretionary funding to apply to other needs.

LASTING GOAL OR SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PROJECT

When this project is fully sponsored and our teachers have gone through their Teacher’s training courses and received their certifications, we can apply to the government to start paying our teachers’ salaries monthly. Additionally our ministry school can receive financial assistance permanently with certified teachers on the government’s payroll. This will free up more of our funding to be used for evangelism and quality Christian education programs.

The worries and struggle to help pay the teachers will no longer be in our hands.

BRIEF COURSE OUTLINE

This College/ University course starts every September and runs for 12 months.

This course is segmented in to three years.

Teachers will be lectured by their lecturers during the holiday periods in Sierra Leone, which is when schools are closed for the holidays. Then these teachers attend their college courses and return back to school teaching when schools reopens after the holidays.

The college administration will conduct an internal exam to assess the teachers/students at the end of every year (when Tuition is due). In the third year which is the last year, teachers/students will write their external exams to complete the teacher’s training course and the teachers will be given their certificates at the end.

PROJECT FINANCIAL REPORT

At the beginning of each year, the College/University fees paid receipt will be sent to you and the acceptance letter issued by the college to our teachers.

APPRECIATION Please help us by sponsoring one or more Teachers annually or make a one time gift to be applied.

Then, email UNTCI to give them the “heads up” that the funds are on the way. They will then direct the funding to us immediately upon receipt through our already established process.
