Introducing TECU’s Director of Education Programs, Asia

Reverend Thomas Vongdeuan Thorstad, TECU Director of Education Programs in Asia

UNTCI Fellow and long-time Member, Thomas Thorstad has been appointed to the newly created TECU office of Director of Education Programs, Asia.

Rev. Thorstad has maintained a presence within the mission ministries he left in Laos to accept a call to Pastor his current church near Niagara Falls. He has continued to be a part of the Christian Community that is there ensuring, as much as distance will allow, a continued centering around educating the communities of the church in order to provide growth in faith, life, family and the church, based on Gospel principles and sound Theological Doctrine.

Even as he has returned to the US, his efforts continue to bear fruit…

Through the efforts of Rev. Thorstad, the President of the Lao church LEC, Dr. Khamphone has asked that TECU provide an educational program at the Doctoral level for 2 groups of Pastors requesting opportunities for further study and terminal degrees. Thomas responded on behalf of TECU while present in Laos for conference with a 2 phase educational plan that more than meets their requirements. The program has been accepted and will begin shortly with 5 to start, then 5 more behind them. Rev. Throstad will be coordinating the preliminary prerequisites, and the progression of their studies throughout.

It is our hope that through these successful efforts organized and continued by Director Thorstad, TECU will be invited to provide more education programs to more groups within the church there and those places where they may have influence throughout the region, much like our Kenyan efforts.

Let us all be in prayer for these successes through our Lord’s grace and providence.

Congratulations Director Rev. Thomas Thorstad in the appointment and the opportunity!
